Bien-Air MXI LED Micromotor: Integrated self-cooled induction motor and LED lighting for podiatry units

The Bien-Air MXI LED micromotor (part no. 18060L) stands out from all other models in the range primarily due to its motor technology: it is the only one equipped with an induction motor (brushless) and an integrated self-cooling system. These two features are not merely cosmetic improvements: they transform the motor’s performance during intensive use and its wear curve over time.

Capron Podologie selects the MXI LED for podiatry practices equipped with a treatment unit, where the technical integration of the micromotor is designed to take full advantage of this high-end model’s features.

Induction technology for your micromotors: why it makes all the difference

In a brushed motor (the standard in most podiatric micromotors), carbon brushes provide the rotating electrical contact. These brushes wear down gradually, generate heat through friction, and require periodic replacement. In an induction motor, this mechanical contact does not exist: current is transmitted via electromagnetic induction, with no wearing parts.

Practical benefits in daily use: no need to replace brushes, reduced vibration, quieter operation, less heat in the hand, and extended mechanical lifespan. For a practitioner who uses their micromotor for several hours a day, induction is an investment that pays off in the long run.

Built-in self-ventilation: automatic temperature control during treatment

The MXI LED’s built-in self-cooling system ensures internal airflow that regulates the motor’s temperature during extended sessions. Without this system, conventional micromotors can overheat during intensive use, leading to premature wear of electronic components and an uncomfortable feel in the hand.

The practitioner can work without worrying about cooling cycles—the motor manages its own thermal regulation.

Built-in LED lighting: view the treatment area without external lighting

The LED built into the MXI's head projects a beam of light directly onto the treatment area, regardless of the room lighting. This technical feature is particularly useful when treating the periungual areas and lateral ridges, where visibility is naturally limited even with good ambient lighting.

Why choose the MX-i electric micromotor?

  • Motor technology: induction (brushless), no mechanical wear parts.
  • Self-cooling: automatic thermal regulation.
  • Maximum rotation speed: 40,000 rpm.
  • Lighting: LED integrated into the head.
  • Weight: 115 g, balanced for use on a treatment unit.
  • Length: 10 cm.
  • Diameter: 23 mm.
  • Mounting: E Intramatic type.
  • Sterilizable: yes.
  • Storage range: -1 °C to +40 °C.
  • Use: on a unit (connection via the unit’s control panel).

Warning! The MXI LED is designed to operate on a unit. It cannot be used as a standalone device with a portable controller. Capron Podologie can advise you on compatibility with your existing treatment unit.
