The Bien-Air MC2-IR micromotor is the lightest model in the Capron Podologie selection: at 75 grams, it is the lightest model in the range with an internal spray system. This technical feature is no small matter: for a practitioner who holds their micromotor for several hours a day, the difference in weight directly translates to reduced muscle fatigue and a lower risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

Its internal spray ensures precise cooling of the drilling area, and its standard E-mount makes it compatible with the vast majority of handpieces available on the podiatry market.

A standard micromotor with a spray weighs between 90 and 115 grams. At 75 grams, the MC2-IR represents a 20 to 35% reduction in the weight held in the hand. Over the course of a day with 6 to 8 podiatry appointments, this translates to a significant reduction in the cumulative strain on the muscles of the wrist, forearm, and shoulder.

This lightness is achieved without compromising on power: the MC2-IR delivers the same 40,000 rpm as its heavier counterparts in the range. Bien-Air designed the micromotor’s body using materials with high specific strength to achieve this balance.

The E (or Intramatic) configuration is the most common standard in French podiatry practices. The MC2-IR is therefore immediately compatible with the handpieces already found in most practices, without requiring an adapter or replacement of existing equipment.

The internal spray passes through the body of the micromotor to reach the handpiece directly—a configuration that preserves the precision of the water jet and eliminates the unwanted splatter characteristic of external sprays.

Key differentiator vs. MC2-GTIR: same internal spray and same max speed, but 18 g lighter (75 vs. 93 g) and 5 mm shorter (8.1 vs. 8.6 cm). The E-mount is more common than the GT in French practices.
